Come along to our open day on Friday 27th April 2018 to find out more about the Harlow Town FC Academy.

Harlow Town Football Club Academy is for 16-18 year olds, run with the aim of stopping talented footballers falling through the net, with top quality coaching and the help needed to progress into the semi-professional and professional game.

To run alongside the football programme, we also run a study programme of a B-TEC course levels 2 and 3 in sport which is run by our education provider SCL. The level 3 B-TEC enabling you to go to university if you wish to do so.

The Education programme is free, unlike many others and besides a fee for kit and facilities which is heavily subsided there are no other fees involved.

As part of a special offer if you sign up to the academy within one week of being offered a place, you will only pay £100.00 for the year instead of the original price of £340.00. That’s a 70% saving.

Our coaches are UEFA and FA qualified and have played at the top level of English Football, along with managing at semi-professional level. Training is based on improving you as an individual in all aspects of the game, with sessions concentrating on a player’s technique, control and tactical awareness. This is then enhanced with filmed training sessions and matches, with group training and game analysis.

The staff involved in the programme have the contacts and channels in the professional and semi-professional game to give you the opportunity to become a professional at the very highest level. The Harlow Academy can provide you with the platform you need to progress as a player in every aspect.

Coaches

  • Ibrahima Sonko – After arriving in the United Kingdom from France looking to achieve a professional football contract, Ibrahima ‘Superman’ Sonko went on to earn a fearsome reputation as a no nonsense centre back playing in The Premier League or Reading, Stoke City and Hull City. Ibrahima was an ever present in the Reading team that gained promotion to the Premier League in emphatic fashion after winning the league with a record 106 points. During that season he was also named in the PFA Team of the Year. His highly successful career also included three seasons in the Turkish Super Lig and international caps for Senegal.
  • Danny Chapman - Danny came through the youth system at Barnet Football Club and was offered a 3-year professional contract. After serving 2 years of his contract he moved into the top level of non-league football with Welling United for a further 2 years. Danny is currently first team manager of Harlow Town FC who play in the Bostik League Premier Division (Step3). In the last 5 years of Danny’s reign, the team have achieved play-off places in four of those years and achieved a promotion.

We at The Harlow Academy will do our very best by you the player, to develop you to a level required in the professional game. Technically, tactically, physically and mentally we can provide the platform for you to reach your dream.
