On Friday evening a Harlow Town Xl played host to a Grays Athletic Xl, the game finished with a 4-2 success to the Hawks.

Harlow started with a strong eleven players, in goal was Darren Behcet and a back four of John Glowaski, Scott Curley, Danny brown and Junior Dadson, midfield consisted of James Smith, Chinedu McKenzie, Robbie Martin and Stan Muguo, with a front two of Leon Antoine and Alex Read.
It was Read who opened the scoring with a delicate lob over an advancing Grays goalkeeper. But Grays pulled level shortly afterwards with a neat finish to take the teams into half time all square.
At half time manager Danny Chapman changed things around and gave four players from the under 15's squad a run out in the team, outfield players Zach Birse, Taylor Wild, Ted Richardson and Paolo Montella all made an impressive start in a Hawks shirt. James May played part of the second half after his return from Mexico but was replaced himself for the last part of the second half by youngster Michael Corderoy.
The Hawks were well in control during the second half and Chinedu McKenzie scored a brace with two great strikes, which must of given manager Chapman a hard decision on who to play on Wednesday. In-between McKenzie's strikes Junior Dadson slotted home when being put through on goal. There was still time for Grays to score there second when they were awarded a soft penalty, and unfortuntly for Corderoy he was unable to keep the spot kick out.

The final result from The Harlow Arena was Harlow Town Xl 4 Grays Athletic Xl 2.
