The Hawks make the trip to Cray Wanderers this Sunday, for a Ryman League Division One North match.

Captain James Smith will be back in contention after completing his two game suspension.

This is the Hawks’ fourth away game in a row, and the last match before Christmas. They will be keen to bounce back after they were surprisingly defeated away at Thamesmead, despite dominating large portions of the game.

Following a full Saturday programme of fixtures, Harlow have once again played a games less than league-leaders Needham Market. They beat third-placed Wroxham 2-0 on Saturday, so the Suffolk side are now four points ahead. A win against Cray will put the Hawks one point behind, having played the same number of games, going into Christmas.

Currently Harlow are second with 57 points from 25 games, but two wins, two draws and two losses in the last 6 games have seen them fall down the form table.

Cray announced on Friday that one of their Joint-Managers, Michael Paye, has stepped down from his role. Gary Abbott, a former Cray striker with whom he had been sharing the management duties, will take sole control of the first team going forward.

Last season Cray Wanderers finished bottom in the Ryman Premier Division. They’re not faring any better at Division 1 North level and find themselves in second-bottom on just 16 points from 23 games. They’ve drawn three and lost three of the last 6 and haven’t won in the league since the end of September.

Cray ground-share with Bromley, and as it means crossing the Thames into Kent, for the second game in a row, you’re advised to leave plenty of travelling time in case of extra Christmas shopping traffic.

The stadium address is:

Cray Wanderers
C/O Bromley FC
Hayes Lane
Bromley
Kent BR2 9EF

Kick off is at 3:00pm, Sunday 21st December.
