The Hawks make the trip to Thamesmead this Tuesday, for a Ryman League Division One North match.

Captain James Smith will miss the game due to serving the second match of a two game suspension.

This will be the Hawks’ third away game in a row, after having to dig deep to win away at Aveley and Tilbury. As we move through the winter months and bad weather takes hold it’s going to be more and more difficult to play the type of football that fans are accustomed to seeing on the Harlow Arena surface.

This is Harlow’s game in hand over table-topping Needham, so they go into this game knowing that a win will lift them to first place, 2 points ahead of the Suffolk side. A draw will also see the Hawks go top on goal difference. Currently Harlow are second, with 57 points from 24 fixtures.

Harlow are going well in the league, still with only the one defeat in the league this season. Three wins, two draws and a loss have returned 11 points from a possible 18 in the last 6 games.

Last season Thamesmead finished third from bottom in the Ryman Premier Division, and were relegated after just one season in that league. They’ve struggled to adjust to the Division 1 North level and find themselves in mid-table, 13th place with 30 points from 22 games. They’ve taken 8 points from the last 6 games – two wins, two draws and a loss.

Although it’s not too far away as the crow flies, the journey to the ground will require a trip through either East London and across the Thames, or around the M25 over the Dartford crossing, so allow enough travel-time in case of traffic. The stadium address is:

Thamesmead Town FC
Sporting Club Thamesmead
Bayliss Avenue
London
SE28 8NJ

Kick off is at 7:45pm, Tuesday 16th December.
