The Hawks make the short trip to Waltham Abbey on Bank Holiday Monday for a Ryman League Division One North match.

Harlow’s 3-0 win over Soham, was an important result for the Hawks to keep up the pressure on the playoff chasing sides. Harlow have won two, drawn one and lost three of the last six, so another win will be vital to put the bad spell of results behind them.

Waltham Abbey however, pulled off one of their results of the season last time out with a 2-0 win over runaway league leaders AFC Sudbury. In the previous game they had also beaten AFC Hornchurch, another of the promotion contenders, so their tails will be up for the visit of Harlow.

Harlow are still fourth in the table, level with third-placed Cray Wanderers on 80 points. Only four points behind Thurrock, who have played a game more than the Hawks, the eye is firmly on second spot.

Waltham Abbey meanwhile, are fighting against relegation. They sit just inside the drop-zone, with 35 points from 41 games. Wroxham are just a point ahead, so the Abbotts will be ready to battle hard for their Ryman League survival.

With heavy wind and rain forecast for Sunday night into Monday morning, fans will nervously be waiting for news regarding if a pitch inspection is needed. Keep an eye on the Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest news.
