Hawks defeat Southend United in Essex Senior Cup

After a stale first half of few chances, Harlow took the
lead just after half time as Danny Brown headed home after a Robbie Martin corner
was flicked on. Harlow continued to press and reaped the reward as Alex Read
stabbed the ball home after a strong tussle with an opposing defender in the six yard box.
Southend pulled a goal back through Seedy Njie but that failed to deter Harlow as Shane
Stamp scored a wonder goal after a quick break. Stamp fired home from the edge
of the box with a thunderous shot that gave the Southend goalkeeper no chance. Njie slotted home a penalty just
before the final whistle but Harlow hung on for a morale-boosting win.
