Hawks see off Hertford

Goals from David Cowley, Omer Riza and Leon Antoine put the Hawks ahead before the home side pulled one back 15 minutes from the end.

Cowley's opener was a delightful lofted shot from the edge of the area that drifted over the home 'keeper. It was a bright moment in a first half that was far from enthralling.

Harlow upped the tempo of the game after the half-time break, and the lead was doubled soon after. A goalmouth scramble fell to Junior Dadson, who squared the ball for Omer Riza to smash into the roof of the net from six yards out.

Leon Antoine added a third, despite his looping header being scrambled out of the goal by a retreating defender. After consultation with his assistant, the referee judged the ball to have crossed the line and the Hawks were three up.

Hertford weren't without their chances, hitting the post twice in the match, and when a counter-attack down the right reached the byline the ball was crossed low for the number 10 to hit home into an empty net.

The next pre-season outing for Harlow Town is at home to VCD Athletic on Saturday 25th July.
