A brace from captain James Smith in the opening six minutes gave the hawks a perfect start on Saturday.

With Manager Danny Chapman being unavailable for the day it was down to Assistant Manager Spencer Knight to look after the side. It could not got off to a better start with The Hawks coming flying out straight from the whistle,
James Smith had the first chance of the game on two minutes after Alex Read set up Smith who's shot was well saved by Adam Seal as he pushed the ball round the post for a corner. But on Four minutes Smith struck his first goal after a cross from Jared Small found him in the area and his scuffed shot found the back of the net.
Two minutes later Smith added his second as he created space for himself in the penalty area and finished well with a low shot.
But on Thirteen minutes Harlow's defence fell asleep to let Wakering back into the game a free kick from the left found the head of Stuart Hepburn who made no mistake from 10 yards as he rose unchallenged to head past Ed Thompson.
Two minutes later James Smith nearly grabbed his hat-trick as he and David Cowley linked up really well only to see another fine save from Adam Seal. On Eighteen minutes Wakering had a chance to equalise after a Free Kick by Ex Hawk Tony Jacobs found John Bradley at the back post but he shot wide.
On 23 minutes it was Jacobs causing problems for the Hawks defence again as he burst down the right wing and hit a shot that Ed Thompson doe well to turn around for a corner. But Wakering got their deserved equaliser on Thirty Three minutes when a quickly taken free kick caught Shane Stamp sleeping and allow Jacobs a free run down the right, cut in and hit a powerful strike into the net to make it 2-2.
Wakering came out in the second half looking to take the game to Harlow, and they had three very good chances in the opening Ten minutes, the closest chance was on Fifty Seven minutes when Eljay Worrell hit a volley just passed the far post. But as the second half went on Harlow's fitness was showing as they started to take command and on 68 minutes a David Cowley corner from the right found the head of Fabion Simms who headed towards goal and Jared Small flicked it over the advancing Seal with his head to give the Hawks the lead for the second time in the match.
Then on Seventy Four minutes the referees assistant saw a handball as Harlow were pushing forward, and the match Referee Mr Stephen Brown gave a Free-Kick to Harlow 25 yards out in a central position, up stood striker Alex Red who converted it with a great strike curling it into the net to seal the three points for The Hawks.
