Hawks Top Table after victory at Ramblers

Harlow were quick out of the traps on Tuesday night, Alex Read, James Smith and David Kendall all had efforts on the Ramblers goal, before Jared Small won a tackle deep in his own half before sprinting down the right wing and delivering an inch perfect cross for Alex Read to convert from 6 yards.
Ramblers could not get into the game, and it took 26 minutes for them to provide their first threat when captain Marc Gorbell headed just over the bar from a corner.
On 35 minutes Alex Read had the ball at his feet in the penalty area, he was trying to make space for a shot but the defence stood firm until Read found Captain James Smith, returning after a 1 game suspension chinked passed two challenges and hit a low shot past the helpless goalkeeper Matt Belcher to make it 2-0.
Three minutes later and Smith returned the assist to Alex Read, his superbly taken Free-Kick found the head of Read who made it 3-0 with a good finish. A minute later and Hawks goalkeeper Dean Driscoll making his debut for the club after a last minute move from Redbridge, superbly tipped over a header from a Ramblers head. Then Read could of extended the lead when he rounded the goalkeeper but went for goal instead of laying it across the face to an unmarked Shane Stamp.
Two minutes before the break a corner from the right found Kye Jude t the back post and his diving header reduced the deficit to 3-1 at half time.
Burnham came out for the second half trying to get back into the game, with plenty of possession but the final ball was letting them down, and on 62 minutes Jared Small scored Harlow's fourth, when he converted from 12 yards after Alex Read's shot was palmed out by Belcher. Both teams could not convert chances as they came and went until a consolation from Ramblers on 82 minutes when Isaac Aubynn struck to make the final score Burnham Ramblers 2 v 4 Harlow Town. Attendance 85
