Danny Chapman's men could not of got of to a beter start when Shane Stamp flew down the left and wing and cut into the penalty area only to be flattened by Romford centre half Nathan Cooper, the Referee Mr Chris Bodell had no alternative but to give the penalty and book the borough defender. Alex Read picked the ball up and Cooley dispatched it passed Borough keeper Aaron Omand.
But Romford then took control of the half and were denied an equaliser on 8 minutes when a Jack Barry header from a corner was cleared of the line by Robbie Martin.
But two minutes later Romford were level Tom Richardson ran down the left wing and played a neat one-two with Abs Seymour before finding an unmarked Callum Ibe who smashed it home from 14yards. On 24 minutes Ed Thompson made a great save pushing the ball round the post from aJamie Dicks shot. Then on 35 minutes a mix up in the Hawks defence gave Romford a great chance to take the lead, but Tom Richardson could not capitalise with only Thompson to beat, the ball ran free to Dicks and his shot was cleared off the line by Daniel Matsuzaka.
The Hawks nearly took the leadearly in the 2nd half when Shane Stamp forced a fine save from Omand, but Seven minutes into the second half Romford went in front when Matt Toms met a Abs Seymour corner and headed the ball into the back of the net. The lead was short lived though as Harlow equalised two minutes later when Captain James Smith turned his man inside out and smashed a great shot into the net. Harlow then enjoyed their best spell of possession but could not find an opening.
With two minutes of normal time remaining Captain James Smith was sent off for a second yellow card.
Then deep into injury time Ed Thompson produced a magnificent one handed save, tipping over a long distance drive from James Ishmail that was heading for the top corner. Not a great performance from The Hawks but an all important point away from home.
