Harlow were stronger on the ball and were much more clinical in front of goal. Wet conditions marked the game and Harlow had the advantage of the slope in the first half. The Hawks went ahead in the third minute. A deep free-kick from the left by Robbie Martin towards the far post was headed across goal by Michael Akande it evaded Leon Antoine but an unmarked Alex Read tapped home at the far post. Ware fought back but lacked the class in the final third and were unable to disturb the Harlow keeper James May. Harlow's lead was doubled in the 26th minute. A Junior Dadson cross came in low from the right and Read tucked in at the near post. The Hawks then went 3-0 up in the 36th minute. Once again the pace of Dadson saw him elude a defender and from an inside right position he shot across goal and in off the far post from 22 yards.
The second half had a lively start. Ware‘s Elliot King forced a great save from James May before the former teed up substitute Jamie Smith who shot wide. However, Harlow stretched their lead on 48 minutes. Read broke and tapped past the advancing Jack Kelly and into the net for his Hat-trick. Read then broke from the half way line eight minutes later to shoot home his fourth goal and put Harlow 5-0 up. Ware fought back and Richards and Ryan Fleming both forced smart saves from May who blocked a goal-bound header from Gareth Madden at point blank range. Substitute Chinedu Mckenzie broke down the right and into the penalty area, a Ware defender put in a clumsy tackle but somehow neither the Referee or Assistant pointed to the spot. Both teams had more chances in the game but there were no more goals.
