Penalty miss costs Hawks 2 points

Muguo got involved in an altercation with Cheshunt player Max Mitchell after the final whistle and was given a red card by the referee. At one stage, Muguo had to be held back by team-mates to stop the bust-up getting any worse.
The Hawks could have gone ahead in the third minute when Alex Read stabbed over off-balance after a corner from the left had been nodded to him at the far post. Harlow had the edge but much of the play was scrappy as passes were under-hit or over-hit in the rain. Former Hawks right winger Luke Marshall fired wide from 22 yards on 26 minutes.
Harlow broke the deadlock on the half hour mark. The visitors’ fourth corner of the game was half-cleared before Robbie Martin crossed the ball back in and Danny Brown rose well at the far post to nod it across and Shane Stamp nodded in from a yard.
The Ambers’s equaliser on 42 minutes had a touch of controversy. The referee had broken up an argument between a Cheshunt player and Harlow’s Jonathan Glowacki before a quick throw caught Harlow’s defence out. The referee blew a very late whistle but allowed play to continue instead of bring play back to re take the throw in. This decision to allow Will Holmes be released on the left and cut in before his shot was turned away by Hawks’ keeper Darren Behcet, only for Joe Clemo to sweep in the rebound.
There was not much goalmouth action in the first part of the second half. On 67 minutes, Cheshunt’s Sam Robbins was stretchered off. 
Harlow missed a great chance to take the three points when Danny Brown fired a 78th minute penalty against the crossbar and over. The spot kick was awarded after substitute Junior Dadson was fouled by Ted Llewellyn in the box. Late action saw Cheshunt substitute Aaron Beckles scuff the ball straight at Behcet. Behcet then produced a good save to keep out a shot from Will Holmes.
