Harlows 13 match unbeaten run came to an end today after Soham Town Rangers secured a 2-1 victory over Harlow. A late Read Goal wasn't enough to spring a comeback and sohham are on their own run of 9 games unbeaten.

With numerous games being called off in the Ryman Division one league, The rain didn't affect the match due to the 3G pitch invested by the club in the summer. However the wind made it a scrappy game and prevented flow in the match.

Harlow got off to a bright start. James Smith got the homes sides first chance on goal as he twisted and turned soham defender Connor Wood and unleashed a good shot which was saved well by the keeper.

But this was the only real chance Harlow had in their 10 minute spell and Soham started to dominate the game. They had a few good chances to take the lead through Abbs and Simpson, but they did take the lead soon after. Harlow failed to clear a corner and the ball came to the edge of the box Ryan Sharman who stroke a vicious shot into the corner of the net to give Soham the lead on 15 minutes.

Harlow failed to respond and were punished again 4 minutes later. Luke Stanley was played through one on one with keeper Darren Behcet and Stanley composed himself and stroked in to give the visitors a deserved 2-0 lead on 21 minutes.

Soham had a clear game plan and it was working as they stopped any service getting through to Alex Read who struggled to test the keeper. Harlow could have got back into it however when a great cross from Smith, Antoine challenged the keeper, the keeper had fumbled it and the ball fell to Dadson who turned and his shot sailed over the bar.

Harlow were finishing the half strongly with good build up play despite the tretourous conditions with the wind and rain. However Soham, remained disciplined and organised and the referee blew up for half time.

The second half started the same way as it ended with Harlow on top but not creating any guilt cut chances to get them back into the game. Harlow knew that the next goal was crucial and that they had to get it early on if they wanted any chance to extend their unbeaten run.

Alex Read went close with a 25 yard strike that whistled just past the post. Junior Dadson Also had good chances to get Harlow Back in the game.

James Smith and Robbie Martin had come off injured leaving Harlow to re-organise the team. Daniel Brown also went down injured but was able to recover and continue playing.

It was getting late in the match and Harlow didn't seem to threat the Soham Goalkeeper like they did in the first half.
This was until Substitute Shane Stamp Delivered a magnificent cross into the box and Read powerfully headed into the bottom corner of the net with 5 minutes of extra time to play.

Harlow were pushing and pushing but wre not able to get another goal against a very resilient Soham defence.
