In very difficult conditions it took a while for both teams to get to grips with the wind. There were no real chances for either side until 16 minutes into the game, A cross from Donny Barnard was meet by the head of skipper Darren Blewitt but Dockers stopper James Marrable was equal to it. The Hawks forced successive corners and on 17 minutes a James Smith corner to the edge of the box was met by Joshua Urquhart who headed goalwards, but as Marrable came to claim the ball Junior dadson stooped in to head the ball over the advancing keeper and into the back of the net.
On 25 minutes David Laird headed against the crossbar from another James Smith corner. Tilbury left back Aaron Waters hit a 20 yard free-kick straight at Daniel Knowles in the Hawks goal, thisbeing the only real chance The Dockers managed to conjure up. Laird nearly extended The Hawks lead on 41 minutes but once again Marrable tipped round the post for a corner.
The Hawks took full control in the second half against a young and spirited Tilbury side, Blewitt shot just wide on 46 mins, then quick feet by Alex Read earned himself space to shoot low down to the keepers left but Marrable managed to stick a foot out to deny the striker. Dadson had a shot again saved by the impressive Marrable on 55 minutes but he could not keep out the on fire Dadson on 75 minutes, Johnathan Glowacki played a ball over the top of the Dockers back four for Dadson to run onto and finish well as he thumped the ball across the keeper and into the back of the net for 2-0. This killed the game off and Danny Chapman's men saw the game out comfortably.
