Harlow could only manage to get a point against their promotion rivals AFC Sudbury which stretches their run without a win to 4 games. Harlow's goal came from Junior Dadson before Jack Wilkinson equalised. Alex Read missed a penalty, which could have seal

For the first time in a long time conditions at The Harlow Arena was perfect for an afternoon of exciting football to be played. And this match lived up to the expectation. This match was even more intriguing as the two sides clashed on Tuesday night which ended 0-0, so who would take all three points in this game?

Before the game, Harlow had not won in 3 matches which meant a slump into fifth place. But Harlow started as though they were on the up not on the way down. Harlow were interchanging short neat passes but where just missing the cutting edge to open up the Sudbury defence.

It was, however, Sudbury who had the first clear sight on goal. Sam Clarke twisted and turned in the area and rifles a shot towards goal but Daniel Knowles was there to tap around the post to keep the midfielder from bay. From the resulting corner Ben Thompson's header rattled the crossbar from 6 yards.

Not long after, Harlow took the lead. Fantastic pressure from Harlow's offence on the Sudbury defence made them make mistakes. The ball found its way to Shane Stamp battles his way out of trouble and he then delivers a beautiful cross to Dadson who couldn't miss from 6 yards out.

AFC Sudbury had responded well and could have equalised on numerous occasions through James Baker, Ben Thompson and Sam Clarke but they were all denied.

But as soon as AFC Sudbury were looking the more dangerous side, Harlow were awarded a penalty. Once again the Harlow attack were hot on the heels of the defenders of Sudbury, which leads to the penalty. Henshaw loses the ball on the edge of the area from a tackle from Alex Read and he advances past the goalkeeper but gets brought down. The referee awarded the penalty but Alex Archer escaped a sending off as he was only booked. Alex Read stepped up and his penalty was saved by Archer to keep Sudbury in the game. That was the last main talking point in the first half and the referee blew for Half Time.

It was a fairly even half with both teams creating chances but Harlow were deservedly in front.

But it was a different story in the second half.

Sudbury equalised through Jack Wilkinson. the free kick was extremely debateable and was given by the linesman rather than the referee. Jack Wilkinson stepped up and it was more a cross/shot and ended in the back of the Harlow net to make it 1-1

Harlow were trying to step up their tempo but were being halted by the stubborn and organised Sudbury side. A chance did however fall Harlow's way and nearly regained the lead. Donny Barnard played the ball into Dadsons feet and he swivelled past his man and curled a shot inches wide.

New Signing Levi Mathurine came off the bench for Stamp. He ignited new energy to the game with his blistering pace and the skill that he possessed. He delivered a few dangerous crosses which the Sudbury defence had to be alert with.

Harlow then hit the crossbar in the last ten minutes through Alex Read. A fantastic through ball from Layne Eadie was latched on to by Alex Read who composed himself before attempting the onrushing Alex Archer, but his effort bounced off the bar and out for a goal kick.

The last bit of action came from the Smith brothers. Substitute George Smith cleverly flicked the ball to his brother James Smith who was in space to shoot but his shot hit the side netting.

HARLOW: Knowles, Barnard, Eadie, Urquhart, Blewitt (c), Glowacki, Dadson(G Smith), Muguo, Read, Smith, Stamp(Mathurine).
