Harlow showed there intentions from the 2nd minute when Junior Dadson had a shot turned round the post by Deres stopper Robert Sturggon. Darren Blewitt then headed wide from a James Smith corner on 4 minutes. Some great work by Layne Eadie down the left found Dadson running into the penalty box, but once again Sturggon won the battle and the defence helped clear the ball.
The first chance that came Deres wa was on 28 minutes when a corner was floated in but deres defender Reis Boyce could only head over the bar. Both Blewitt and Dadson went close in the closing stages of the first half, but the first half finished goalless.
Hawks started where they left off in the 2nd half creating chances but unable to convert them, Blewitt, Eadie and Alex Read all going close, but on 57 minutes Deres midfielder Joe Fitzpatrick faced the long walk back t the dressing room after being shown a 2nd Yellow card for a poor challenge on Stanley Muguo. From the resulting free kick The hawks won a corner which James Smith delivered into the box where after a scramble Blewitt forced the ball home to give the Hawks a deserved lead. Further chances came and went for Shane Stamp and Read, but Dadson sealed the points when a defensive mix up gave the ball to Chinedu McKenzie who threded the ball through to Dadson to slot home.
Not a vintage performance from Danny Chapman's men but they did just enough to earn them the points, unfortunately it dose not look good for the Deres at the bottom end of the table.
