Harlow came back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 against table toppers VCD which means that Harlow completed the double over VCD. Goals from Dadson and a brace from Read give Harlow 3 vital points.

Harlow knew that they had to get a positive result against VCD to have any chance of possible automatic promotion. Fabion Simms made his home debut and new signing Ed Thompson started on the bench. A very similar line up for VCD that won on Thursday night so they had momentum on their side but fitness may be a factor.

VCD started the game brightly with good high tempo football starting from the back which looked like it may cause Harlow trouble later in the game.

But it was Harlow who got the first chance. Stamp twisted and turned from his man and he floated a cross shot that was heading for the top corner but was well saved by VCD Keeper Nick Blue. But from the following corner Harlow took the lead on 6 minutes through Dadson. A corner was floated in and Blewitt knocked it down for Dadson who tapped in from 6 yards to give them the lead.

However VCD responded well and equalised 2 minutes later through Michael Power. A cross from Ibehere, was met by Power who headed past Knowles and in the back of the net on 8 minutes.

Harlow were the better team after the goal and were trying their best to get back in front but the defence of VCD was very resilient.

As Harlow were looking to take the lead VCD countered and they took the lead through an unstoppable strike from Peter Smith. A 30 yard strike from Smith on the 28th minute make it a very tough ask of Harlow to get back into the lead.

Harlow had chances to equalise before the break through Read, Stamp and Dadson but all were denied by VCD keeper Nick Blue.

Harlow came out fighting in the second half and got their rewards on 51 minutes. Fantastic football from Harlow got them level. Junior Dadson skilfully put through Layne Eadie who then set Alex Read to tuck home.

From this point Harlow were going for all 3 points and played with magnificent tempo and flair to give them a competitive edge over VCD. Also the support from the hawks made them up the tempo and give them a psychological advantage.

Shane Stamp used his silky skills and blistering pace to get past his man and he took on another defender before rifling a shot heading towards the far corner but greatly pushed away by the keeper.

It was Harlow who got the decisive goal to give them the result. A fantastic delivery from James Smith was teed up for Alex Read who climbed highest to nod in his second of the game and gave Harlow all three points to give Harlow fans a chance to dream!

HARLOW: Knowles, Barnard, Eadie, Urquhart, Blewitt (c), Simms (Antoine), Dadson, Muguo, Read (Laird), Smith, Stamp (G Smith).
