Cheshunt scored with the last kick of the game to snatch a point at the Harlow arena. Omer Riza opened the scoring before Read scored a penalty. Harlow thought they won the game when George Smith netted but John Megicks scored a screamer to end a great ga

Harlow were going into the match in fantastic form by winning their last 6 matches and unbeaten in 8. After Harlow destroyed Witham's unbeaten home record they needed to prove they were consistent enough to challenge for a possible automatic spot. Alex Read also broke the club record of 44 goals in one season as he netted a hat-trick on Thursday night. Cheshunt also played on Thursday night and also got a resounding 6-2 win over Romford so Harlow were going to be up against a confident side.

A minute silence was held for the 96 who lost their lives at Hillsborough 25 years ago. Also kick off was at 3:07pm.

Harlow got off to a bright start with vibrant passing and quick movement but were failing to create any real chances to test the Cheshunt keeper.

Adenunmi was creating a lot of problems for the Harlow back four and he had the first chance of the game. He was played in and he composed himself but he lashed his shot just wide.

Harlow's first chance came in the 25th minute. A fantastic cross field pass from Urquhart gave space for Dadson to drive at the Cheshunt full back, he drove to the by-line and pulled back a cross to Read who fired just wide.

Harlow were struggling to create any goal scoring opportunities.

Cheshunt then took the lead through Omer Riza. Harlow failed to clear and Omer Riza, the former Arsenal man, had space to turn and volley in the bottom corner on 39 minutes.

The second half started with Cheshunt on the front foot and looking to add to their lead and they nearly done so through John Megicks. Megicks picked the ball up 30 yards from goal and smashed a shot the rattled the crossbar.

Shortly after Harlow were awarded a penalty. Alex Read was brought down by Warren Goodhind and immediately Read grabbed the ball to make sure he was going to step up and take it. Read calmly stroked the ball into the bottom right corner on 75 minutes..

Harlow were from this point on top and were searching for the second goal.

Harlow created good chances that came from Read, J Smith and stamp but were all denied by keeper Viner.

But in the 90th minute, Harlow thought they had won the game. Read nipped the Cheshunt keeper to the ball and slotted a shot that was going in but was deflected onto the post and came out to George Smith who tapped in.

But there was one last twist in the tale as Cheshunt equalised with the last kick of the game. Harlow were complacent and failed to clear the ball out and the ball fell to Megicks who sweetly struck a volley that flew into the top corner of the net and the Cheshunt players celebrated wildly! The goal was announced as a Da Silva goal but it was indeed a Megicks goal.

HARLOW: Knowles, Barnard(Martin), Eadie, Urquhart, Blewitt, Glowacki, Dadson(Antoine), Muguo, Read, Smith, Stamp(G Smith)
