Although the score line suggests the game was a close
encounter, it was anything but as Harlow looked to put the disappointment of
recent results behind them and regain their confidence. Their best chance came
in the 14th minute as James Smith fired a powerful right footed shot which the
Forest keeper David Myers superbly tipped onto the post. Shortly after Stanley
Muguo headed just wide of the post after jumping the highest from a corner.
Junior Dadson should have opened the scoring midway through the half but the
ball was stabbed off the line by the retreating defenders.
Harlow travelling support were hopeful of goals in the second half, but again
Harlow were unable to force a way through the stubborn Forest back line.
However, the defence was breached in the 76th minute as Junior Dadson latched
onto a perfect through ball from playmaker Smith and fired low across home
custodian Myers into the bottom corner. Forest did try and find a way through to
equalise but some strong defending from captain Darren Blewitt and make-shift
centre back Leon Antoine ensured nothing troubled Hawks stopper Behcet.
Man of the match- Leon Antonee (as Dave Square calls him!!)
