Harlow were knocked out of the FA cup by Heybridge Swifts. Heybridge Swifts defeated Harlow 3-2 to go through to the next stage. Goals from Junior Dadson and Alex Read were not enough to give Harlow a the result.

Comments from the Heybridge manager had spiced up the atmosphere as the Harlow fans reminded him he was in for a tough afternoon as the fans were constantly singing.

Harlow started the game very brightly. Junior Dadson had two glorious chances to give Harlow a commanding lead. the first chance was good build up play from Harlow. Donny Barnard knocked the ball into Read's feet and he cleverly flicked a pass to Dadson which left him with just the keeper to beat but his shot was straight at the goalkeeper. Minutes later Dadson had his second great chance to score. Leon Antoine knocked on a long ball to Junior Dadson but his shot was again straight at Heybridge Swifts keeper Nicky Eyre.

Heybridge were to punish Harlow for the chances missed. On the 15th minute Heybridge struck. Luke Callander got on the end of a long ball and composed himself to strike the ball goalwards but a wicked deflection of captain Darren Blewitt looped over keeper Danny Naisbitt.

As Harlow were looking for a quick response, they suffered another setback. Luke Callender got his second of the game. He worked himself into a tight position to shoot but his shot was still able to find the net with Naisbitt only getting fingertips to the ball. 2-0 in the first 18 minutes wasn't the start that Danny Chapman would have wanted.

Harlow had a huge penalty appeal turned down by referee Adrian Waters. Alex Read fantastically wriggled his way through Three Heybridge players before pulling his pass back to the waiting Antoine but defender Taylor Hastings slid for the ball but his trailing hand clearly hit the ball but the referee waved away the appeals.

That moment summed up the half for Harlow. Frustrating.

In the second half Heybridge came out flying.

Heybridge had hit the woodwork twice in the space of 10 minutes and could of sealed the game for Heybridge. first it was Michael Cheek who hit the woodwork. He raced into a promising shooting position and unleashed a thundering shot which rattled the crossbar. Then Callender could have got his hat-trick. He swivelled away from the Harlow defence but his curling shot brushes the post.

But Heybridge got the important third goal which they were desperately looking for. Harlow's defence was all over the place as Callender timed his run and he was clear of the Harlow's defence and then layyed off the supporting Reece Morgan who tapped in 3-0 on 68 minutes.

Harlow looked dead and buried and never looked like they were going to score.

That was until Junior Dadson got a goal back for Harlow from a great volley. The ball was bobbling around the Heybridge box and the ball fell kindly to Dadson who sweetly struck a volley into the bottom corner to give the Harlow fans something to shout about. 85 minutes

This was not a consolation as Harlow then got another two minutes later. Harlow worked the ball well into the Heybridge half and were rewarded with their patient build up as Dadson was given the ball out on the wing and delivered a great cross in the 6 yard box to Alex Read who tapped in to give Harlow a fighting chance.

Harlow were doing everything they could to get that equaliser but unfortunately wasn't the case.

There was positives to take back for Danny Chapman but there was also room for improvement.
