Harlow bowed out of the Robert Dyas League Cup despite dominating the game on Saturday

Harlow came out of the blocks first and after 4 minutes Fabion Simms had a shot blocked after getting on the end of a David Cowley free kick. Hampton then created a couple of chances themselves when Duncan Culley and then Jake Rose both came close to opening the scoring.
The Hawks did take the lead on 27 minutes when Jared Small finished well at the back post from a cross by David Cowley. Cowley then came lose when his free-kick was headed over the bar by the Hampton wall. From the resulting corner James Smith foundBen Glasgow who volleyed over the bar.

On 35 minutes Hampton & Richmond were back on level terms, Josh Urquhart allegedly brought down a Hampton player, but from the side-lines it looked like he won the ball cleanly. But the referee thought otherwise and up stepped Culley to smash the ball home from 30 yards. Harlow should of gone in at Half Time 3-1 up but Small missed a delightful chance on 44 minutes when he somehow managed to put the ball wide from 6 yards, and a minute later Captain James Smith tried a chipped shot rather than smashing the ball home when clean through on goal. Hawks were going to rue those missed chances.

3 Minutes into the 2nd Half and a mix up between Hawks keeper Ed Thompson and right back Ben Glasgow saw Culley score his second of the game. Chances came and went for Cowley, Smith and Simms and with Danny Chapman's men pushing for an equaliser, Hampton capitalised with a stunning 3rd goal on 79minutes when substitute Jerome Federico speed down the left flank cut inside and curled a great finish into the far corner beyond Thompson. Ben Harris completed the scoring in injury time.

The Hawks can now concentrate on the League with no further cup games to conjure with. The next game is on Saturday when we entertain Redbridge at the Harlow Arena.
This will see the reverse of the opening days fixture when The Hawks came away with a 3-1 win, goals from Shane Stamp, George Smith and an own goal from Liam Thomas.
