Bury Town were clinical from the spot after an 89th minute equaliser for the visitors sent the game to penalties.

The Hawks led from a Reece Dobson header five minutes before half time, but the visitors drew level on 89 minutes when Charlie Dickens put into his own net.

Bury Town scored all four of their penalties to see off Harlow Town who weren't as clinical from the spot.

Bury started well but it was Harlow with the first chance on four minutes when Nigel Neita got around the back of the Bury defence and put a good cross in to the box begging to be headed in but Bury cleared the danger.

Tommy Robinson put a cross in for Darren Mills on seven minutes but it was too strong for Mills to head Bury in front. On nine minutes Liam Wales had a moment he would rather forget. Mills put a through pass in for Wales and with the Hawks keeper rushing out to clear, Wales block tackle saw him in on an open goal but he pulled the shot wide of the far post.

Robinson was involved again for Bury’s next good chance on 25 minutes. Robinson dribbled past two players and found Ollie Canfer whose quick turn and strike had the keeper making a great diving save.

Harlow looked dangerous with every attack and on 28 minutes some great skill from Andrea Mayasi took him through the Bury defence and he put a cross in for Junior Dadson to head from point blank range, but Luis Tibbles made a brilliant save.

A set piece was to separate the two sides at the break. A free kick on 40 minutes for Harlow put in by Mayasi was perfect for Reece Dobson to head home.

HT: Harlow Town 1-0 Bury Town

Harlow had the best of the opening part of the second half, and Bury had to wait until the 61 minutes before they had their next good chance. After a good build up, Ryan Jolland let a shot fly and Harlow keeper did well to tip the ball over the bar.

Tommie Fagg showed good skill on 64 minutes, powering through to the edge of the box to set up Junior Dadson but Tibbles made the save.

On 80 minutes Bury almost grabbed the equaliser. Some dogged tackling from Liam Wales won him the ball and a quick pass in for Canfer in the box but again the keeper tipped it over the bar.

Bury were to get the equaliser late on with a slice of good fortune as a dangerous free kick in from Cemal Ramadan to the far post was put in to his own net by Charlie Dickens on 89 minutes.

Late chances in the game saw Ramadan put a ball in for Mill and Wales in the box but quick reflexes from the keeper and he was there to collect the cross. Nathan Livings went close for Harlow at the death blasting a shot an inch over the bar.

The game went to penalties, and Cemal Ramadan, Noel Aitkens, Leon Ottley-Gooch and Ryan Jolland all put their spot kicks beyond the keeper. Bury keeper Tibbles saved Tommie Fagg's effort, and when Mayasi blasted his penalty over the bar Bury Town progressed through to the next round.

FT: Harlow Town 1-1 Bury Town (Bury Town win 4-3 on penalties)
