Good afternoon all, hope you have all been very well and are enjoying the beautiful sunny weather we're getting at the moment.
I have been away since the 2nd July, but have now returned and so game updates etc will return to normal, as well as highlights.
In my absence, a few things have occurred at the club:
- For one, we saw the departure of Ishaq Ameen to Sporting Bengal. We thank Ishaq for his contribution to the club in the last 2 seasons in which he was top goalscorer for the club in his first, scoring the infamous winning goal in the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup Final 2024 against Downham Town and scoring 30 goals and making 9 assists in his 73 appearances with the club. Best of luck Ishaq in your next venture.
The Hawks have completed three pre-season friendlies and have looked promising as they went on to defeat Thaxted Rangers 5-0 in their opener, Sungate 6-0, and groundshares London Harts United 9-0. We face Woodford Town at Harlow Town Football Club on Tuesday night, kicking off at 7.45pm.
We also saw the draws for the FA Cup and FA Vase which resulted in an away tie for the Hawks in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round on Saturday 2nd August against Saffron Walden of the Essex Senior League. In the FA Vase, the Hawks received a bye in the first qualifying round and will face either Hullbridge Sports or Stansted FC at home on Saturday 20th September.
Our opening two league fixtures have been released and it confirms that we will travel to Aylesbury Vale Dynamos on Saturday 26th July, and we will host Harpenden Town on Tuesday 29th July, kicking off at 7.45pm. We will update you on further fixture releases when we are made aware of them.
We have been drawn against Cranfield United in the Gladwish Challenge Cup (League Cup), whom we will face away on Tuesday 16th September at 7.45pm.
We hope to see you on Tuesday evening as we host Woodford Town. Have a great weekend.
