Hawks defeated on the road & Wilson departs

Ray Dyer5 Feb - 22:11

On Tuesday night the Hawks travelled to Potton in the league.

Unfortunately it was not going to Harlow's night in this relegation battle. We went 1-0 down after only 9 mins on the clock when Teddy Jones put into his own net. Shortly after Korede Da Silva received a Red card for serious foul play, having allegedly raising his foot into the head of a stooping Potton opponent. There seemed to be minimal or no contact made, but unfortunately the referee had a different view. Louie Pullen then was cautioned & placed in the sin bin leading up to half time. Rusev then doubled the hosts lead 10 mins into the 2nd half.
Harlow then halved the deficit when Raheem Gray netted nearing the final whistle. But the scoring was not finished & Rusev then bagged himself a controversial brace killing the Hawks off in the 91st minute to make it 3-1. During the buildup to the goal Hawks captain Simms looked to of be fouled and left on the deck in pain, but the referee decided no foul was committed and Russev scored. An angry Ishaq Ameen was then the 2nd Hawks player to be shown a shown a straight Red Card, this time for foul & Abusive Language/actions.

Earlier on in the week, Jack Wilson left to join AFC Welwyn, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Jack for his efforts at the club and wish him all the best for the future.
