It was a disappointing display from Harlow Town who, after having won 0-5 the previous week against Basildon Town, were unable to execute the same cutting-edge performance at the Pardus Wealth Stadium.
Syrus Gordon came agonisingly close to opening scoring for the reds, with a volley that he chested-down and hit from 20 yards, but after dipping, it was slightly wide of the post.
Against the run of play, Fabion Simms slipped which allowed Nyron Dyer to run through on goal and send James Pellin the wrong way to give Brimsdown a lead right at the beginning of the game.
Refusing to let it sway them, Harlow responded with a goal through a Gavin Cockman header after some terrific work by Terrell Egbri, who beat his man and delivered a great cross to the striker.
Chances went amiss for both sides before Harlow turned the game on its head, with James Folkes netting from a Denzel Effah corner, giving them the lead before half-time.
However, early into the second half, Brimsdown netted again after yet another Harlow defensive error that allowed Val Reid to run through on goal, giving Brimsdown their equaliser on the break.
With the clock ticking rapidly, it was down to the home side to show why they are top of the league and get their noses in front again, but unfortunately it never materialised and after a couple of half-chances, the game ended 2-2.
After our cup quarter-final against Woodbridge Town on Saturday was rescheduled, our next match is Hoddesdon Town at Lowfield on Saturday.
