Leon Antoine and Terrell Egbri Depart

Logan Young1 Jun - 15:55

We’d like to thank them for their service to the club.

As announced last month, Terrell Egbri and Leon Antoine will depart Harlow Town Football Club.

Leon first joined the club as a player and quickly became a fan-favourite. A forward, renowned for popping up with goals, often with his head, Leon was part of Danny Chapman’s playoff-winning side of 2015/16, notably pouring beer all over Chappo in his post-match interview.

Since the beginning of the 2023/24 season, following our resignation from the Southern League the season before, Leon acted as assistant manager to Danny Chapman as their squad lifted the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup in the first season, and then went on to be crowned champions of the Thurlow Nunn Division One South the following season, and making the League Challenge Cup Final once again.

Not only this, Leon also helped the side out when needed, and came off the bench a few times, scoring on almost every occasion and rolling back the years.

Leon’s impact on the team cannot be understated. A character in the dressing room, inspiring the team, and making everyone laugh on many occasions, we will miss him and he will forever be part of Harlow Town Football Club. Leon, we wish you the best of luck in everything you do.

Terrell Egbri has become a familiar face around the club for the best part of a decade. Originally joining on loan from Southend United, Terrell lit up the stands with his goals and assists. A pacy, agile young player with an eye for goal, he also became a fan favourite very quickly when the Hawks were still in the Isthmian League.

Terrell returned to Southend United following his loan spell, and spent a season in League One, in which his great performances saw him part of Southend United’s first team throughout the season.

A year-or-so later, Terrell returned to the club, with the Hawks in the Southern League, and continued where he left off, showing some fine form, before we resigned from the Southern League in late-2022.

After heading to the Czech Republic to play for MFK Vyskov in the Czech 2nd Division, Terrell returned to the club in December 2024, hoping to enjoy his football again and help us in our mission to win the league and get promoted. This goal was achieved, and Terrell had some great moments again, with 2 goals and 9 assists in the second-half of our league campaign (18 appearances).

Terrell has departed the club to join Maldon and Tiptree, a club he has played for once before, after we resigned, and we thank him for his time here again and wish him all the best. You will always be one of us Terrell.

Thank you to both Leon and Terrell, and keep smashing it!
