The news come after the club were invited to apply for promotion following the curtailment of the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, which saw the Hawks sit top of the combined season table with a 0.08 PPG over Luton Town and 0.22 PPG over Peterborough Northern Star.

The Hawks were unbeaten during the 2019/20 season after 15-games, as they won 13 and drew 2.

After an opening day draw with Wymondham Town, the Hawks went on a 11-game winning run, scoring a total of 68-goals and conceding 16, before they drew against St Ives Town. A further 11-1 win over Haringey Borough and a 5-4 win over Bedford was all the Hawks were allowed to play before the season was cut short, but they still had 7-games remaining.

Harlow held a 6-point gap over Luton Town, having played a game more, but still needing to play them away from home in one of the 7 remaining games.

This season, the Hawks featured in just five games in which turned out to be a tough season for the club. The Hawks sat 5th, with 10-points after beating Peterborough, Royston Town and Bowers & Pitsea, drawing with Wroxham at Trafford Park and facing their first defeat in 2-seasons against Wymondham Town.

Although Harlow sat 5th, they had 3-games on hand on the sides above and sat 8-points off the leaders.

Now though, Harlow Town Ladies will be competing in the FAWNL Division One South East alongside the likes of Hashtag United, Enfield Town and Stevenage.

Speaking on the promotion, manager Dean Perrett said “I’m over the moon. I got a little emotional when I found out, if I’m honest. We had a two-year plan and although that got mucked up by the Pandemic, we still achieved it!

“I can’t thank all the players who have represented the badge and played for me over the last two-years, as it’s a credit to them. It’s also a credit to the staff that I’ve had alongside me.

"The first season [2019/20] after the season we had, I thought we would have gone on to win the league and who knows what would have happened this season? We ended up playing more cup games than we did league games, so it was hard to tell how the season would have panned out. We’ve been made to wait, but we are just glad that we have finally got it over the line.

“I want to thank Terry Harrison, who deserves a massive pat on the back, as well as James Hall. There are those who have also stuck by me like Joe Barker, Lee Walker, Joe Perrett, who have also been fantastic. The backroom media guys have been unbelievable with the profile they have given us off the pitch as well as the upcoming people in Liana Murphy and Mason Warren who have also been part of this little journey.

"I have so many people to thank including those at the club, who have backed us over the last two years; Tommy, Tim, Alfie, Donna and all the players and staff from the First team and Reserves, who have also supported us over the last two-seasons.

“It’s going to be tough, in our first season in the National League, but it’s about putting our heads down and focusing on the task ahead. We’ve brought Coach Ruudy in this season, who has been fantastic already and will certainly get the Ladies going. We’ll have a look about and see who we’ll need to bring in, but the most important thing is holding onto our current squad, who deserve to make the step-up and play at a higher level.”
