Tom Jelliman Hangs Up The Boots

Tom Jelliman Hangs Up The Boots

Logan Young26 Jun - 13:32

We'd like to thank Tom Jelliman for everything he has done for us for the last 2 years.

We can announce that Tom Jelliman has decided to retire from football.

Tom has been an integral member of our family for the last 2 seasons, making a momentous impact both on and off the pitch with his superb performances, dozens of assists, a few goals but most importantly constant laughs.

Jelly very quickly became someone who the supporters adored, and has been a role model to his teammates for the last 2 seasons.

In the last year, he became synonymous for the 'Jelly Roll', in which he went viral for rolling across the pitch after a brutal tackle. This quite simply sums up Jelly, bringing humour to the pitch as well as off it.

We congratulate him massively on his 18-year-long footballing career, which is a huge milestone for non-league and we wish him all the best in everything he does.

Good luck Jelly, you'll always be a Hawk!

Tom Jelliman's Message To Harlow Town FC:
"HTFC family, after much deliberation for some time now, I have made the decision to call time on my football career.

The decision has been one of the hardest I've ever had to make, a day that I've known was always going to come but still hard nonetheless.

I want to start off by thanking Tommy, Chappo, Tim and all of the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to play for this unbelievable football club. From the second I walked through the door, I was made to feel so welcome by everyone and for that I'll be forever thankful.

To the fans, I don't even know where to start with this one... without a doubt the best fans in non-league by a country mile! You supported me and the team, home and away no matter what. You stuck by us through some difficult times which didn't go unnoticed. A lot of what we achieved on the pitch was down to all of you, so thank you! I look forward to cheering the boys on with you from the terraces in the future.

To the boys, what an absolute rollercoaster the last two seasons has been. After all the ups and downs, we still managed to stick it to everyone and come away as cup winners and league champions! I can honestly say, without a doubt, the best changing room I've ever been involved in. Made some friends for life in meeting you boys. Good luck for the upcoming season and I'm sure yous can get the club back to where it belongs.

In the 18 years I've been playing Saturday football, I can honestly say, with my hand on my heart, the last two seasons have been the best in my career.

Wishing everyone involved with the club the very best for the future.

I will be over to support when I can for sure, so hopefully see you all soon.

Love you all,
Jelly x
