James is a goalkeeper who signed for the Hawks in July 2023, after being part of Dunmow Town's promotion winning squad of the previous season.

James' first season with the club was an excellent one. He was the club's number 1 as we lifted the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup and he made 49 appearances, making 20 competitive clean sheets and assisting a goal. He won Supporters' Player Of The Season in his first season.

His second season was very much a case of continuing where he left off. James recorded 18 clean sheets in 47 appearances, assisting once again. His clean sheets were a pivotal part of the Hawks' Thurlow Nunn Division One South title win of 2024-25.
